Description :

The First Three Kings Of Israel

The story of the first three kings of Israel (Saul, David and Solomon) serves to demonstrate how fickle and fragile men are. Though “anointed” by God, the kings were fallible and prone to taking their eyes off of the Sovereign God. They reflected the broader social and religious malaise of the people as they increasingly turned away from the authority found in the Law of Moses and the knowledge of God.

Jerusalem Under Other Kings Volume 1 and 2

Volume 1:

What was the "Writing On The Wall"? Who was involved and what was the result?

The fall of Babylon to King Cyrus the Great of Persia.

The writer takes the reader on a fascinating journey of discovery and understanding through the vision and dreams of Daniel recorded in Chapters 6 to 12 of his book. God’s people were displaced and divided. Far from their homeland, with no King or land of their own. Many were exiled, including Daniel, in hostile, idol-worshiping cities.

Daniel alights upon the prophetic restoration of the Judean people from their 70 year exile in Babylon to Jerusalem, a mission to rebuild the Temple and redevelop the city.

Read all about the fulfillment of God’s promise to restore his people and Temple worship 70 years after the destruction of Solomon’s Temple.

Volume 2:

It is 13 years after Ezra’s ministry to restore the authority of Scripture in Jerusalem (Jerusalem Under Other Kings (Volume 1)), and God has called Nehemiah to restore the walls of Jerusalem (445 BC). Yet, God’s people continued to rebel. Next, God fell silent -- for 400 years, through Alexander the Great, Antiochus IV and the imposition of Hellenism (Greek culture), the Jewish Maccabean dynasty, the ascendency of Rome, to Herod, ‘the King of the Jews’.

Then, around 5 BC, Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, the King of kings, was born. But was Jerusalem (Israel) ready or willing to embrace this King?

Primarily spanning 600 years, Jerusalem Under Other Kings (Volume 2) details the amazing story of God’s ‘silent protection’ over Israel and the Jewish people – from Nehemiah to Jesus, the Messiah.

The Last Kings Of Judah Volume 1 and 2

Volume 1:

Who were the last kings of Judah? Were they the same as the kings of Israel? From Alfred Yeo’s previous work, The First Three Kings of Israel, we fast-forward 200 years to King Hezekiah of Judah. It’s now 715 BC and the king is walking in the ways of the Lord.

Volume 2:

The young King Josiah had sought to re-establish the authority of God’s Word over the governance of the southern kingdom of Judah. Sadly, after Josiah’s death, where this story of the Last kings of Judah continues, his son’s, Jehoahaz and Jehoiakim, and the latter’s son, Jehoiachin, failed to uphold Josiah’s example. As a result, the people of Judah were gradually drawn further away from God, succumbing to the worship of foreign idols.

Israel Under Joshua & Judges

God’s words to Joshua and His people could not have been clearer. They stood on the threshold of the Promised Land with the swelling River Jordan before them. Then, as the 4 priests who were carrying the Ark of the Covenant stepped into the river, the water dried up for thousands of people to walk across to Canaan on dry ground.
