And loneliness is a feeling that goes far deeper than missing the presence of another person. It is an ache, a deep longing to feel connected, validated, seen, known and valued. For loneliness, unchallenged, has the power to eat away at our emotional, spiritual and physical health.   —   Transforming Loneliness, Ruth Graham

When thrust into situations and circumstances not of our own choosing, our feelings of helplessness, powerlessness, loneliness grow. This 'out-of-our-control' situations can be terrifying and trusting God in these moments isn't always easy and is especially tough when we can't see, feel, or hear Him. Still, He is exactly the antidote for our uncertain moments. Only when we seek and allow Him to fully 'be' God can we sense His nearness.

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
-   Numbers 23:19
As we go through these difficult, lonely times; often it's hard to see that Jesus is right there next to us.  Someday, we will look back and see all the places where God had led us through. Perhaps, in those overpowering aloneness, the reason we made it was because He carried us through deep waters.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.   -   Isaiah 43:2
