We could think of it as a news report on what is happening on earth as reported from heaven. Angels and demons that are active on the earth are in full view. We see past, current, and future events in cosmic technicolor, communicated to us in the form of images, impressions, metaphors and symbols. — Blessed
Revelation 1:1,3 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John. . . blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
This is our ultimate hope, the ascension of Jesus and return is consistent with what is written in the New Testament. We are exhorted to be patient and establish our hearts as the Lord is at hand and the end of all things is at hand. The coming of the Kingdom of God was set in motion by the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Revelation is about things that must soon take place and the time is near. We are to be sober and watchful in prayer as the Kingdom of God spreads throughout the world with the spreading of the Gospel.
