"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."   ― Isaiah 55:10-11

God's word "always produces fruits". The promises of God serves as an apothecary shelf of remedies. Just as the doctor might prescribe a medication for your body, God has given promises for your heart. For every problem in life, God has given us a promise. Make it your aim to get so acquainted with these promises that you can write yourself a prescription. Nothing lifts the weary soul like the promises of God. It is through the great and precious promises that we participate in the divine nature of God, Unshakable Hope.

Explore and delve deep into God's promises, reflecting on how He has kept them in your life. As 2021 draws to a close and we prepare for a brand new 2022, be intentional about our relationship with God. Schedule a personal devotional time with God to flow with the rhythm of our life. Keep the focus on substance rather than how-long, how much. Who knows, before long, a lasting habit of daily devotions might be formed to connect and relate more deeply and lovingly with God.

James 4:8  “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”  The Bible is clear that without God’s Word, we are spiritually lost. However, without structure, it can be easy to read Scripture haphazardly and we will flounder without clear path and roadmap direction. The regularity of a daily devotional helps facilitate engagement with Scripture and creates a framework within which the Holy Spirit can individually nudge, convict, guide, and spur us on. A good, well-written devotional can provide that much needed guide and systematic structure.
