My visit in Singapore will not be complete without visiting a book store, and Oct 2016 was my second time to Cru bookstore. We are blessed to see how massive the choices they have, which will surely be very helpful for the ministry among the poor children, youth and parents. But with limited budget I know I can’t bring home many. I am thankful for the generosity of  Media Ministry of Cru Singapore,  especially through their helpful leadership & staff, I was able to bring home with me these amazing resources that will surely bless the poor, for free!

This visit in Singapore was only a stopover for a mission trip in Myanmar. I visited Kalaymyo and Yangon, since I carried so much books, it was an opportunity to bless them too. I left a few books for kids and youth and they were thankful. Mary Lam, the head bible school coordinator said “this is very helpful especially the ones with pictures.” Because of the lack of English literacy, pictures will help them to learn creatively, and at the same time can learn English. (Picture on the left are the students in Myanmar, Mary is on the far end right on green shirt.)

Michael, is my youth pastor in Marilao House church Community, a 22 year old college student whom I am mentoring. He is thankful to receive the books and resources. He will start meeting his youth leaders to plan on scheduling a training on how they will use the materials they received. Before the year ends, the leaders had a film showing on William Tyndale Story and challenged by his devotion for the understanding of Word.

I have prepared a 1 year curriculum for our Church in Marilao. The theme is “Maturity in Christ”. For the first quarter, we will be using Rick Warren’s “Developing Faith that works” to help us mature in facing trials, hardship and persecution.  This week is our third week and we will be discussing the third Session on “How to win over temptation.” This bible study guide is very helpful especially for our leaders in the church, to give them understanding that in poverty there is lots of opportunities to share in Christ suffering. This curriculum will be multiplied and be taught to other Churches of Bukang Liwayway Ministries too.

On behalf of Bukang Liwayway and our leaders serving among the poor of Manila and other regions of Philippines, we thank God for the books we received because of you. May the Lord bless Cru in all your ministries and by bringing the good news in many creative ways.
